The history of Christmas ornaments.

At the begining of XVII century, the tradition of decorating a Chriistmas tee began in Germany and Scandinavian coutries, The first decorations were quite simple and echoed Christian symbols: the Star of Bephlehem, apples, candles, sweets, wafles and nuts. And of course, Christmas was the most favorite holiiday among children.

In the second part of XVIII century, the Baroque era, more elegant fine decorations appeared. Christmas ornaments were made of paper, hammered brass, porcelain. There were even precious ones - gold and silver.
The first glass Christmass balls were made in Thuringia in 1848 instead of real apples. And in the late XIX , decoration made of embossed cardboar became very popular, They were called Dresden cardboard, because of the name german city Dresden, where such toys first began to be produced.
At the same time, toys made of cotton spun appeared, completely handmade, such as fruit sprinkles with glass glitter, figurines of animals, children and angels figures. It is so exciting, when you dive into the history of the history holiday celebration and learn interesting facts, isn't it?

Cotton spun is a fluffy and pliable material, but the process of making Christmas cotton ornaments with it required certain handicraft skills.According to an old technology, cotton spun is wound on a wire frame with a home made glue and faces are made of papier-mache, painted by hands.

“Julia is sincerely radiant as a person and so brilliant are her creatures. She made me a red rose brooch that I wear both on clothes and in hair. It really looks like a natural shiny rose. I decorate my x-mas tree with x-mas accessories made by Julia - her little Snowman looks like alive and made from real snow ) Every piece carries a heart and spirit from its mother - Julia
